Big Meadows Lodge, nestled within 10 acres of Shenandoah National Park in Luray, offers ideal lodging and cabin rentals. Built in 1939 with stones from Massanutten Mountain and native chestnut wood, the lodge is officially listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is located one mile from the large, grassy meadow at mile 51 of Skyline Drive. It is a short drive from the Shenandoah River, Shenandoah Valley, and Piedmont Region. The property features a main lodge, five cabins, and six multi-unit buildings, offering a total of 97 guestrooms. Accommodations range from small, rustic cabins and main lodge rooms to comfortable traditional and preferred rooms, with pet-friendly options available. Guestrooms include showers, hair dryers, and coffee/tea makers, with daily housekeeping provided. Please note, there are no in-room phones. Guests can enjoy complimentary Wi-Fi in the main lodge building, free self-parking, and a range of amenities including a fireplace in the lobby, a banquet hall, wedding services, and tour/ticket assistance. Dining options include the Spottswood Dining Room, New Market Taproom, and a bar/lounge. Full breakfasts are available daily from 7:30 AM to 10 AM for a fee. The lodge also features a Craft Shop and gift shops/newsstands, along with terrace seating. Complimentary, family-friendly entertainment is presented nightly in the taproom. For recreation, guests can enjoy horseback riding, hiking, and a Guide Ranger Program. There is no resort fee. Big Meadows Lodge is closed annually from January 21 to May 4 (dates subject to change).
